Entry-Level Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Euless, Texas at Road Machinery and Supplies Co..
Job Description
Entry-Level Heavy Equipment Technician
U.S. Shoring & Equipment | Euless, Texas
Mechanically inclined? Interested in turning that interest into a career? We'll provide the training!
U.S. Shoring & Equipment is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our service team.
Whether you're just getting started, have spent years turning wrenches in your garage, recently graduated from a technical school, or already have some professional shop experience, we'd like to hear from you.
We're not expecting you to know everything when you walk through the door. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in doing things right, and is eager to learn.
This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians, gain hands-on experience with specialized construction equipment, and develop the skills needed to build a long-term career in the heavy equipment industry.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll work alongside experienced technicians learning how to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction and specialized underground equipment.
You'll start with the fundamentals and take on more responsibility as your skills develop. Some days you'll be helping rebuild equipment, other days you'll be cleaning parts, organizing tools, or sweeping the shop. It's all part of learning the trade.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting technicians with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Learning the fundamentals of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Performing preventive maintenance, oil changes, lubrication, and equipment inspections.
- Assisting with equipment disassembly, assembly, and component replacement.
- Cleaning equipment, parts, tools, and work areas.
- Sweeping floors, organizing the shop, and maintaining a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
- Inspecting and preparing equipment for rental or customer delivery.
- Occasionally traveling with experienced technicians to customer job sites to assist with field service and equipment repairs.
- Learning proper documentation, safety procedures, and shop practices.
- Taking on additional responsibilities as your knowledge and abilities grow.
Around here, everyone pitches in. We're looking for someone who's just as willing to pick up a broom as they are a wrench, takes pride in their work, and understands that earning responsibility starts with doing the little things right.
What We're Looking For
Experience is a plus, but attitude, dependability, and a willingness to learn matter most to us.
- A genuine interest in mechanics and learning how equipment works.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to tackle whatever the day brings.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a commitment to showing up ready to work.
- The ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and learn from experienced technicians.
- A team-first attitude and pride in doing quality work.
- A commitment to working safely and following established procedures.
- Willingness to occasionally travel for field service assignments and training.
- A valid driver's license.
Previous mechanical experience, technical school training, or experience working on cars, trucks, tractors, small engines, or heavy equipment is helpful but not required.
Training & Career Advancement
At U.S. Shoring & Equipment, we believe in developing our people and providing opportunities for growth from within.
You'll receive hands-on training from experienced technicians while learning to work on a variety of construction and specialized underground equipment, including auger boring machines, diesel-powered equipment, and hydraulic systems.
Most of your time will be spent in our Euless shop, but you'll also have opportunities to accompany experienced technicians on field service assignments. Some assignments may involve out-of-town or overnight travel.
As your skills develop, potential opportunities include advancement into a Heavy Equipment Service Technician position, specialized equipment training, advanced troubleshooting, and field service work.
What We Offer
- Hands-on training from experienced heavy equipment technicians.
- Exposure to a wide variety of construction and specialty equipment.
- Opportunities for continued learning and career advancement.
- Occasional field service experience and travel opportunities.
- A team-oriented work environment where hard work, initiative, and a willingness to learn are valued.
- Company benefits.
