Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Manager based in the United States.

Join a rapidly growing technology environment at the intersection of AI infrastructure, cloud computing, and global finance. In this role, you will lead complex technical accounting assessments and help ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting within a publicly traded company. You will navigate sophisticated transactions involving revenue recognition, infrastructure investments, leases, financing arrangements, and mergers and acquisitions. Working closely with legal, tax, FP&A, operations, and external auditors, you will translate complex accounting guidance into clear documentation and actionable conclusions. You will also contribute to SEC reporting, internal controls, and scalable financial processes as the business expands. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently, and influencing decisions in a dynamic international organization.

Accountabilities
  • Lead technical accounting analysis and documentation for complex and non-routine transactions, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable reporting requirements.

  • Assess consolidation requirements under ASC 810, including variable interest entity (VIE) evaluations, primary beneficiary determinations, voting interest models, joint ventures, special purpose entities, and other complex structures.

  • Evaluate revenue recognition matters under ASC 606, including multi-element arrangements, usage-based pricing, and contract modifications.

  • Analyze lease accounting under ASC 842, particularly for data centers, equipment, and build-to-suit arrangements.

  • Assess accounting treatment for construction and capital projects, including capitalization, impairment, and interest capitalization.

  • Support accounting for business combinations, investments, and strategic transactions, including purchase accounting and coordination of valuation activities.

  • Evaluate debt and equity financing arrangements, including convertible instruments, warrants, and embedded features.

  • Prepare and review technical accounting memoranda and position papers that clearly document accounting conclusions and supporting analysis.

  • Support the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 20-F and 6-K, financial statement footnotes, and required disclosures.

  • Use financial reporting platforms such as Workiva, Active Disclosure, or Toppan Merrill Bridge to coordinate filing preparation, improve accuracy, and streamline reporting workflows.

  • Collaborate with Legal, FP&A, Tax, and Operations to assess the accounting implications of contracts, business initiatives, and strategic decisions.

  • Monitor new accounting standards and pronouncements, evaluate their potential impact, and support implementation.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and lead discussions regarding complex technical accounting positions.

  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Improve financial reporting processes, documentation standards, and operational scalability.

  • Contribute to special projects involving capital markets activity, mergers and acquisitions, and international expansion.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred.

  • 7–10 years of relevant accounting experience, with experience at a Big Four or national public accounting firm required.

  • Strong preference for experience in a publicly traded company environment.

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with substantial experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting standards.

  • Demonstrated expertise in ASC 810 consolidation guidance, including identifying variable interests, assessing VIEs, and determining the primary beneficiary.

  • Experience analyzing complex transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, financing arrangements, infrastructure investments, and capital projects.

  • Strong background in SEC reporting and the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures.

  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting tools such as Workiva, Active Disclosure, or Toppan Merrill Bridge.

  • Exceptional technical writing skills, including the ability to prepare clear, thorough, and well-supported accounting memoranda.

  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound professional judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Experience in AI, cloud infrastructure, data centers, or other high-growth technology businesses is an advantage.

  • Additional advantages include familiarity with infrastructure-intensive or hardware-focused business models, experience with NetSuite ERP, and exposure to international operations and multi-entity structures.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide evidence of employment eligibility. Immigration sponsorship or assistance availability is not specified.

Benefits:
  • Base salary: $139,600–$174,500 USD, with final compensation determined by experience, skills, qualifications, position level, and geographic location.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance: 100% company-paid coverage for employees and their families.

  • 401(k) retirement plan: Company matching contributions of up to 4%, with immediate vesting.

  • Paid parental leave: 20 weeks for primary caregivers and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers.

  • Remote-work reimbursement: Up to $85 per month for mobile and internet expenses.

  • Insurance protection: Company-paid short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.

  • Career development and learning opportunities.

  • Flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful responsibilities.

  • A collaborative, innovative, and international working environment.

  • The opportunity to contribute to impactful AI and cloud infrastructure initiatives while supporting the financial operations of a growing technology business.
