This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Business Development & Sales – Financial Services (Credit Unions) based in United States.

This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on driving strategic growth within the credit union and broader financial services ecosystem. You will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing high-value consulting and digital transformation engagements across Canada and the United States. Operating at the intersection of sales, strategy, and advisory, you will engage directly with C-suite leaders to shape complex solutions that modernize digital banking and member experiences. The role requires a strong hunter mindset, with full ownership of pipeline creation and revenue outcomes. You will work closely with executive leadership to expand market presence, deepen partner relationships, and unlock new opportunities in both established and emerging accounts. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where commercial execution directly influences growth.

Accountabilities

This role is responsible for driving end-to-end business development within the financial services and credit union sector, with a strong focus on revenue growth and strategic market expansion.

  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across credit unions, banks, and fintech partners in Canada and the United States
  • Own the full sales cycle including prospecting, discovery, solution shaping, proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with CIOs, CTOs, and senior business leaders
  • Develop and execute disciplined outbound strategies supported by ABM campaigns, events, and partner channels
  • Translate client challenges into tailored consulting and digital transformation solutions in collaboration with internal teams
  • Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting, account planning, and performance tracking discipline
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and financial services forums to generate and accelerate opportunities
  • Collaborate with marketing and leadership teams on go-to-market initiatives and thought leadership activities
  • Ensure seamless handoff of closed opportunities to delivery teams while supporting long-term account expansion
Requirements

This role requires a seasoned business development professional with deep experience in complex, consultative sales within financial services or related technology consulting environments.

  • 8–12+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client growth roles within professional services, consulting, or digital solutions
  • Proven track record of selling into credit unions, banks, fintechs, or regulated financial institutions
  • Strong hunter mindset with demonstrated success in originating and closing high-value, complex deals
  • Experience managing long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and executive-level engagement
  • Deep understanding of consultative selling, solution shaping, and value-based positioning
  • Strong pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM discipline
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and target-driven environment
  • Knowledge of digital transformation, financial platforms, and innovation services is highly valued
