Strategy and Operations - Physician Enterprise - Clinical SME

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategy and Operations - Physician Enterprise - Clinical SME based in United States.

This is a high-visibility, client-facing consulting role focused on improving physician enterprise performance and care delivery.
You will partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical leaders to optimize workflows and increase productivity.
The role combines clinical expertise, operational strategy, data analysis, and change management across healthcare environments.
You will support engagements spanning ambulatory practices, medical groups, and ambulatory surgery centers.
Your recommendations will help clients identify margin improvement opportunities while maintaining strong clinical and quality outcomes.
Working across multidisciplinary consulting teams, you will help translate complex clinical challenges into practical, measurable solutions.

Accountabilities:
  • Partner directly with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical leadership to assess workflow gaps and design enhanced operational processes that improve provider productivity.
  • Lead and support client engagements across ambulatory, medical group, and ASC environments, delivering actionable recommendations aligned with clinical and operational objectives.
  • Facilitate provider-focused change management initiatives, building trust, addressing resistance, and supporting sustainable adoption of new workflows and practices.
  • Analyze clinical and operational data to identify opportunities for productivity, margin, and performance improvement, clearly connecting findings to measurable outcomes and financial impact.
  • Collaborate with internal Strategy and Operations teams across Revenue Cycle, Labor Management, and other practice areas to develop integrated client solutions.
  • Develop client deliverables, presentations, analyses, and thought leadership materials that communicate clinical and operational insights effectively.
  • Serve as a trusted clinical advisor throughout the full engagement lifecycle, from initial assessment and recommendations through implementation and ongoing optimization.
  • Travel nationwide and work onsite with clients for at least 90% of the time in this highly client-facing position.
Requirements
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) is required; other clinical credentials may be considered for exceptional candidates.
  • At least 5 years of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory, medical group, or ASC environment.
  • At least 5 years of experience at the Director level or above within an ambulatory, medical group, or ASC setting.
  • Demonstrated success driving provider productivity improvements, clinical workflow optimization, and operational transformation in a leadership or operations capacity.
  • Experience leading or supporting margin improvement initiatives, with the ability to connect operational changes to measurable financial, clinical, quality, and performance outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of multispecialty and ambulatory operations, care delivery models, provider workflows, and clinical workflow design.
  • Proven ability to engage directly with physicians and advanced practice providers, influence change, build credibility, and establish collaborative relationships.
  • Strong data fluency, including the ability to analyze, interpret, and present clinical and operational metrics and connect initiatives to financial and quality outcomes.
  • Skilled in change management, including navigating provider resistance and sustaining adoption in complex clinical environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate clinical insights into strategic recommendations for both clinical leaders and executive audiences.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements in a fast-paced consulting environment with a high degree of autonomy.
Benefits
  • Salary range of $125,000–$205,000 annually.
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus may be available for salaried positions.
