Position Title: Construction Equipment Technician ll-TX
Service Technician II-Construction Equipment

Full-Time Non-Exempt Onsite-Lewisville, CA

Multiquip is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Service Technician II to support the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of our industry-leading construction equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment is returned to service safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated technician with strong troubleshooting abilities, a solid understanding of construction equipment systems, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position plays a critical role in supporting customer satisfaction, equipment reliability, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do Equipment Service & Repair
  • Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment in accordance with Multiquip service schedules and established maintenance guidelines.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and related equipment systems.
  • Identify required replacement parts and coordinate ordering to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Perform repairs on construction equipment and supporting accessories.
  • Remove, disassemble, repair, assemble, and install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain fuel systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and other equipment support systems.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and repairs on trailers manufactured by Multiquip.
  • Properly set up, test, and verify equipment functionality using established testing procedures and safe operating practices.
  • Assist with field service work and travel to customer job sites as needed.
Electrical Diagnostics & Testing
  • Interpret and utilize schematics, wiring diagrams, service manuals, and troubleshooting flow charts.
  • Perform continuity and functionality testing using ohmmeters, test lights, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Route, cut, twist, terminate, solder, and secure wiring according to equipment specifications.
  • Install and connect electrical accessories including relays, switches, circuit breakers, plugs, solenoids, and related components.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and wiring issues within construction equipment systems.
Inventory, Documentation & Operational Support
  • Track and manage assigned inventory throughout inspection and repair processes.
  • Request parts, materials, tools, and supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels and support repair activities.
  • Accurately prepare and complete service reports, repair documentation, inspection records, and related paperwork.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, web-based reporting systems, and service management tools.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support fellow technicians and collaborate with the service team to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
What You'll Bring Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience servicing current-model (2020 and newer) small to medium construction equipment.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Prior experience in construction equipment, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, or related service environments preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong engine, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, repair manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and repair procedures.
  • Experience operating diagnostic and electrical testing equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and web-based service systems.
  • Ability to maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
  • Must possess and maintain standard tooling required to perform equipment repairs.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Valid California Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record required.
  • DOT inspection certification is available and may be required to support trailer inspection responsibilities.
  • Additional equipment or service certifications may be required based on business needs.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $28.00/hr-$35.00/hr
