Part Time Opening!

The part-time Program Specialist (Enrollment) is actively involved in community organizations and with school partners and collaborating directly with volunteers, children, and families for the purpose of creating, supporting, and sustaining high volume, high quality Big Little matches.

Essential to the BBBS brand, the primary function of this position is providing high-level customer service throughout the effective implementation of the child/parent enrollment and volunteer enrollment and matching process in accordance with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program options.

The Candidate will be responsible for enrolling and matching volunteers and children at The Villages in Sumter County. Candidate must be willing to travel to in-person appointments to complete interviews and fingerprints in various communities.

Essential to the BBBS brand, the primary function (Match Support) of this position is to supervise, support, and coach matches according to a match support schedule that adheres to BBBSA and BBBSTB standards and policies. The successful incumbent will produce positive outcomes in the following areas: volunteer yield and processing time; youth yield; youth/parent processing time, match closure and retention rates, average match length, and customer satisfaction.

Conducts introductory match meetings between volunteers and children at homes, schools, sites, virtually, or in the community. Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job function. Identify child safety issues for volunteers, children, and their families.

Qualifications

Candidate must have a high school diploma/GED equivalent and meet one of the following criteria:

  1. A documented bachelor’s degree, from an accredited college or university, in human service, social work, counselling, child development or related field. Or the candidate shall be within six months of degree completion.
  2. A documented associate degree or two years of higher education experience, from an accredited college or university in human service, social work, counseling, child development or related field. Plus, two years of relevant work experience in related fields.
  3. Four years of relevant work experience in related fields, such as social work, counseling, social services, child development, or other related fields as defined by the agency.

Minimum two years' experience working with both child and adult population; specific assessment preferred.

Proficiency in technical areas such as: Microsoft OFFICE, including Work, Outlook, and Excel. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.
