MEDICAL ASSISTANT - Medical Clinic in Banning, California at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medical Assistant reports to the Primary Care/OB Clinic Supervisor. The Medical Assistant provides direct front and/or back-office patient care as directed by a Physician, Office Supervisor, or other licensed health care provider. Medical Assistants greet and escort patients to exam rooms, prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, collect specimens and assist with the overall delivery of patient care in the clinic.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred; associate’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.

Licensure:

• • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Current BLS
  • Prefer current CA Phlebotomy License.

Experience:

• Prefer a minimum of one year of experience as an MA.

Other Skills:

• Must be proficient and skilled in the application and use of Windows, Word Perfect, Excel, Outlook, clinical application programs and Internet. Typing/work processing skill of 20 wpm, preferably 40 wpm with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner; to work quickly, accurately and independently; to anticipate needs and solve problems.
• Excellent Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Work with a spirit of enthusiasm, teamwork, cooperation and sense of urgency, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality over all matters in the course of business operations including patient and employee information.
• Ability to successfully uphold the established customer service standards and the Hospitals Mission, Vision and Values.
• Ability to perform functions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work at a high-volume level of accuracy.
