This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer - Tower Experience Required based in the United States.
The Senior Structural Engineer will support complex engineering programs focused on aviation infrastructure and critical communications assets.
You will lead structural analysis, design documentation, technical evaluations, and engineering recommendations for tower-related projects.
The role combines detailed engineering work with field assessments, construction support, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Your expertise will help evaluate tower conditions, extend service life, and develop practical repair or replacement solutions.
You’ll work with industry standards, FAA requirements, and engineering codes to deliver safe, compliant, and technically sound designs.
The position offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale government programs with projects spanning locations across the United States.
This is a fully remote role with occasional travel and site visits, including tower inspections and assessments.
- Prepare detailed structural calculations, engineering drawings, technical specifications, design and installation packages, technical reports, analyses, and other engineering documentation for review.
- Develop and apply a strong understanding of FAA requirements, applicable engineering codes, industry standards, and relevant structural design practices.
- Prepare and contribute to site survey reports, using collected information and professional engineering judgment to develop recommendations.
- Perform structural analysis of lattice towers using TNX Tower modeling software and applicable TIA-222 standards.
- Prepare tower condition reports based on site survey information and identify structural deficiencies or maintenance requirements.
- Develop engineering recommendations for tower sustainment, rehabilitation, repair, and service-life extension initiatives.
- Prepare cost estimates and technical input for tower repair and replacement projects.
- Review supplier drawing submittals, respond to field requests for information, and perform technical bid analyses.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering input to CAD designers, drafters, designers, and other engineers working on assigned projects.
- Support the implementation of safety and quality requirements throughout engineering and design activities.
- Travel periodically to supplier, client, construction, or tower sites to inspect work and assess structural conditions.
- When required, climb towers to perform condition assessments and support the preparation of tower inspection and analysis reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with typically 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 5 years of lattice tower engineering experience, preferably involving the TIA-222 standard.
- Experience performing structural analysis and design of telecommunications, aviation, or other lattice towers.
- Working knowledge of engineering processes, structural standards, and applicable codes.
- Experience using TNX Tower or comparable tower analysis and modeling software.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and standard engineering and PC software applications.
- Ability to prepare clear technical documentation, engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and recommendations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with sound professional engineering judgment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, drafters, suppliers, clients, and construction teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to technical detail.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel to project and tower sites as required, including occasional tower climbing.
- Must be able to successfully complete a required government background check.
- No security clearance is required for this position.
- Salary range: $88,400–$154,700 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, location, and other applicable factors.
