Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst, Senior is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications through the design, implementation, and execution of comprehensive testing strategies. This role involves working closely with development, business, and IT teams to understand requirements and ensure that applications meet business needs and technical specifications. The IT QA Analyst will identify issues, recommend improvements, and ensure that software is delivered with a high standard of quality and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans and test cases to ensure software quality, including functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, project managers, etc.) to understand business requirements and translate them into test plans
• Identify, document, and track software defects, working with the development team to resolve issues and validate fixes
• Perform manual and automated testing to assess functionality, reliability, and usability of software applications
• Review and analyze system specifications and business requirements to ensure thorough test coverage
• Report on testing progress, quality metrics, and test results, providing recommendations for improvements as needed
• Support release management processes by verifying deployments and conducting final pre-release testing
• Participate in the development and maintenance of automated testing scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage
• Continuously improve QA processes, standards, and best practices to enhance testing methodologies
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects found during testing, suggesting preventive measures to avoid future issues
• Assist with the creation of user documentation and training materials to ensure system users understand new features and functionality
• Stay current on emerging quality assurance tools, trends, and practices to incorporate them into the QA process where appropriate
• Additional job duties as assigned

Skills/Experience Required:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience in software quality assurance or a similar IT role
• Experience with manual and automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, TestRail)
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
• Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, and bug reports
• Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Java, C#) and scripting for automation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes is a plus
