- Own core financial operations, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end close, cash flow, budgeting, financial reporting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of approximately three accounting professionals while balancing delegation with hands-on ownership of critical activities.
- Oversee accounts payable and payroll processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-controlled execution.
- Monitor cash positions, upcoming obligations, and liquidity requirements, coordinating with banking partners as needed.
- Maintain appropriate financial controls and exercise payment authority in accordance with established processes and controls.
- Build, deploy, and maintain finance tools end to end, including dashboards, automations, internal web applications, and data pipelines.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to identify opportunities for process automation and translate ideas into working solutions.
- Partner with senior finance leadership to ensure accounting operations provide accurate, timely information for strategic and high-level business decisions.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for accounting operations as the function grows and evolves.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and visibility across finance processes.
- Collaborate effectively with distributed teams and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Strong hands-on experience across technical accounting functions, including general ledger, financial close, tax compliance, accounts payable, payroll, cash flow, and budgeting.
- Proven experience managing and developing a small accounting or finance team, with the ability to combine people leadership and individual contribution.
- Demonstrated ability to independently build and launch finance tools, dashboards, automations, or internal applications using AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with platforms such as Claude Code, Copilot Pro, or comparable AI-powered coding and automation tools is highly valuable.
- A portfolio, code sample, or examples demonstrating successfully delivered finance automation or tooling are expected.
- Experience with US accounting practices and exposure to US-based companies is required.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and the ability to operate responsibly with payment and release-level authority.
- Experience working with global, distributed, and culturally diverse teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the communication skills required to collaborate across international teams.
- High level of autonomy, ownership, and accountability, with the ability to make sound decisions independently.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and process-improvement skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed operational execution.
- LATAM-based professionals are preferred.
- Work arrangement: 100% remote.
- Location: Brazil, with a LATAM-based working environment.
- Employment model: Full-time independent contractor.
- International collaboration: Work with globally distributed and culturally diverse teams.

- Strategic impact: Partner with senior finance leadership and contribute directly to scalable financial operations.
- Growth opportunity: Help evolve both the accounting function and its technology infrastructure as the organization scales.
