Instructor, AI/Machine Learning, Simplilearn (Part time)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Instructor, AI/Machine Learning, Simplilearn based in the United States.

This part-time opportunity is designed for an experienced AI and machine learning professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of technical talent.
You will deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in a fully online learning environment focused on practical, career-relevant skills.
The role combines subject matter expertise with hands-on teaching, mentorship, feedback, and learner support.
You will guide adult learners through applied data science, machine learning, and deep learning concepts while connecting lessons to real-world industry practices.
You will help students build technical confidence, strengthen problem-solving abilities, and progress toward professional competencies.
The position offers a flexible teaching commitment alongside the opportunity to share your industry experience and make a meaningful educational impact.
It is ideal for a seasoned data science or machine learning professional who enjoys explaining complex concepts and fostering collaborative learning communities.

Accountabilities
  • Deliver assigned lessons in accordance with established learning objectives, curriculum materials, and session plans.
  • Create a positive, professional, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports adult learners.
  • Apply instructional best practices, technology tools, industry examples, and professional experiences to make technical concepts practical and accessible.
  • Facilitate learning activities and exercises that strengthen students' knowledge, technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration.
  • Maintain regular communication with students regarding progress, expectations, milestones, and areas requiring additional support.
  • Provide individualized assistance during live sessions, office hours, and through timely asynchronous communication.
  • Evaluate student performance and progression against course competencies, deliverables, and established rubrics.
  • Provide constructive, timely feedback and support Performance Action Plans for students who require additional assistance.
  • Encourage student retention and satisfaction by fostering a supportive classroom culture and applying effective interventions and resources.
  • Serve as a professional role model by demonstrating integrity, empathy, professionalism, and strong communication.
  • Collaborate with the broader learning team, seek feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of the instructional experience.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, deep learning, or a closely related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of applied data science using Python.
  • Good knowledge of machine learning concepts, methodologies, and practical applications.
  • Good knowledge of deep learning using Keras and TensorFlow.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to learners with varying levels of experience.
  • Genuine passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping professionals develop new technical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional history demonstrating integrity, empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, synchronous online learning environment.
  • Willingness to commit approximately 8–12 hours per week to teaching and related instructional responsibilities.
  • Availability for scheduled weekday evening or weekend sessions, depending on cohort requirements.
  • Ability to prepare for instructional sessions and support learners outside scheduled teaching time when required.
