Barback in Windham, New York at Windham Mountain Club

Work Location: In-person role based in Windham, NY.

Seasonal Position: This role is available for the winter season.

Pay: 13 per hour with pooled tips

Anticipated Start Dates: Weather-dependent, typically beginning in early December.

Scheduling Expectations: Part Time evening shifts on weekends and holidays are needed.

Conditions: This role is primarily performed indoors in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Position Summary:

A Barback supports bartenders, assisting them in ensuring that all customer needs are met in an expedient, courteous and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stock and replenish liquor, beer, mixers, ice, glassware, and other bar supplies.
• Assist with bar setup, breakdown, and daily operations.
• Clean and maintain bar areas, equipment, workstations, and guest areas.
• Support food service, special events, promotions, and remote beverage stations.
• Change beverage canisters and assist with inventory management.
• Follow all NYS Liquor Authority regulations and company policies.
• Provide friendly, professional service to guests and team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• TIPS certification required before starting employment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, high-energy environment.
• Comfortable handling cash, operating POS systems, and multitasking.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10 hours.
• Ability to navigate crowded areas while carrying trays and supplies.
• Ability to work on uneven terrain, including snow- and ice-covered surfaces.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, pull, and climb stairs as needed.
