This Therapy Aide role offers an opportunity to work closely with therapists and other clinical team members while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pediatric patients. As a Therapy Aide, you will provide hands-on and operational support to clinical staff, assist with therapeutic activities under the direct supervision of clinicians, help prepare and maintain treatment spaces and equipment, and contribute to the smooth daily operation of the therapy department. Joining Children's Specialized Hospital means becoming part of a team dedicated to exceptional pediatric care while playing an important role in helping clinicians deliver meaningful therapy experiences for children and their families.

  • Preparing, setting up, and cleaning up therapy treatment areas and therapeutic activities before and after patient sessions
  • Cleaning mats, therapy equipment, toys, and treatment surfaces using hospital-approved disinfectants in accordance with infection control policies and procedures
  • Maintaining clean and organized therapy spaces, including the waiting area, ADL kitchen, gym, breakout rooms, and treatment areas
  • Helping maintain a safe environment for patients, families, clinicians, volunteers, and other staff
  • Monitoring inventory of general supplies and equipment and communicating supply needs to appropriate staff
  • Ordering supplies and equipment and following up to ensure items are received in a timely manner
  • Maintaining required temperature logs and monitoring therapy equipment inspections as indicated
  • Providing additional support to clinical staff with tasks such as pantry ordering, hand-washing monitoring, maintaining the MSDS/SDS book, photocopying, voicemail support, volunteer orientation, and data collection and entry
  • Assisting with the orientation, supervision, or training of volunteers assigned to the site as appropriate
  • Supporting therapists and other hospital personnel with additional duties as needed to help ensure efficient daily operations
  • Completing other duties as assigned while maintaining a patient-centered, professional, and team-oriented approach

This role might be for you if:

  • You are passionate about supporting children and families and enjoy contributing to a pediatric healthcare environment
  • You have experience working with children, particularly children with special needs, or have a strong interest in pediatric rehabilitation
  • Strong customer service and communication skills allow you to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, clinicians, hospital personnel, and volunteers
  • You are dependable, attentive to detail, and able to take and follow directions effectively
  • You value cleanliness, organization, infection control, and maintaining a safe environment for patient care
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with therapists and other members of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • You are comfortable balancing patient support, equipment and treatment-area preparation, and administrative responsibilities throughout the day
  • You demonstrate emotional maturity, patience, professionalism, and sensitivity when working with children and their families
  • You have the physical stamina to remain active throughout the day, including standing, walking, lifting, pulling, transporting materials and equipment, and assisting with patient transfers
  • You are comfortable working in a dynamic outpatient therapy environment that may include a gym, pool, casting area, and other treatment spaces
