About the Role:
As a Slitter Operator in the manufacturing industry, your main responsibility will be to operate and maintain slitting machines to cut materials into specified widths. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality materials for various applications. Your attention to detail and precision will be essential in meeting customer specifications and maintaining a smooth workflow. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring the slitting process, troubleshooting any issues that may arise, and performing routine maintenance on the machines to ensure their optimal performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine control.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with different types of materials, such as metals, plastics, or textiles.
- Previous experience operating slitting machines or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to machine operation in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and techniques.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for measuring and adjusting material dimensions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in cutting materials.
Responsibilities:
- Operate slitting machines to cut materials into specified widths according to customer requirements and quality standards.
- Monitor the slitting process to ensure proper alignment, tension, and cutting accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance on slitting machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the slitting process, such as material jams or misalignment.
- Maintain accurate production records and report any quality or productivity issues to the supervisor.
