Job Description
Our Material Handler-Production is instrumental in delivering quality service to our customers. Expect thorough training on our processes, which require a focus on accuracy and detail. There is a family dynamic at The Pond Guy that extends to the customer as we strive to give them the highest quality service possible.
Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.
- Replenish production inventory primary locations to ensure they remain fully stocked
- Maintain and organize stock locations within the warehouse using minimum stock replenishment processes
- Complete material requests for other departments in the organization
- Assist in material receiving functions when required
- Cycle counts of inventory
- Consolidate overflow items to optimize warehouse space
- Operate all equipment safely and productively, following all company guidelines and safety practices
- Maintain a clean and organized manufacturing environment
- Collaborate cross-departmentally when needed
Skill Set
To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:
- 1-3 years of experience in material handling
- Organized and detail-oriented
- 1-3 years of computer experience
- Ability to follow procedures methodically
- Forklift certified experience is a plus
This position requires the ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods; demonstrate manual dexterity when working with small components; frequently bend, stoop, and stand for long durations; lift, lower, and carry packages typically weighing 25–50 lbs; handle packages up to 150 lbs. with assistance; load and unload carts with heavy items (e.g., bags of soil or similar products); and push and maneuver carts with a total load of up to 200 lbs. consistently throughout the workday.
In addition, this role requires comfort with heights and operating a large turret forklift upon proper training and certification.
We need a Material Handler-Production with a positive attitude who wants to become an expert. You’ll offer exceptional customer service by taking the time to follow the process and do things the right way. This person should continually add value to the organization beyond their day-to-day tasks.
Availability
You must be available to work Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a full-time, year-round position.
