Job Description
Friends of Children and Families is currently seeking licensed and licensed -eligible master’s level therapists to provide school-based mental health counseling to students attending Orange County Public Schools, primarily in the East Orlando and Lake Nona area.
This is a fee-for-service, 1099 independent contractor position. Instead of an hourly wage or salary, you are paid per completed, billable clinical service. Most sessions are paid at an hourly rate prorated to the actual length of the session (sessions won't always run a full hour), while certain services — such as biopsychosocial assessments — are paid as a flat rate per service rather than prorated by time.
What you’ll do:
• Provide Individual, family or group therapy to students on-site at designated school
• Carry and maintain a caseload of at least 10 clients
• Complete required clinical documentation to support insurance or grant billing
• Have the ability to travel to assigned schools, primarily in the East Orlando, and Lake Nona area
What we are looking for:
• Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Services field
• At least 2 years of experience providing direct counseling to children and families
• Licensed in the State of Florida or licensed eligible
• Familiarity with Medicaid and other Insurances
• Proficiency with use of Microsoft office and Electronic Medical Records
• Reliable Transportation
• Professional liability insurance
• Must pass local and state background screenings
• Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese, or Creole a plus
Starting Pay: $35-$50/hour (This is a fee for service position. Compensation may vary depending on the client’s insurance plan, reimbursement rate, service provided, and other factors)
