Description:

NAC Mechanical Services is seeking an HVAC Technical Trainer responsible for developing, delivering, and continuously improving technical and safety-focused training programs for technicians, apprentices, and helpers.

This role plays a key part in employee development by providing consistent, practical instruction aligned with company standards, industry best practices, and safety expectations. The HVAC Technical Trainer serves as a technical resource, mentor, and coach while supporting workforce development initiatives across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and deliver structured HVAC training programs.
  • Create lesson plans and hands-on technical exercises.
  • Train employees on HVAC systems, electrical systems, controls, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices.
  • Assess employee skill levels and tailor training to support development opportunities.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom, shop, and field training experiences.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through testing, observation, and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate training and certification records.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Reinforce company policies, quality standards, and safety expectations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for field personnel and leadership teams.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, professionalism, and safety
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of HVAC industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, coach, or develop field personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, controls, troubleshooting, tools, and safety practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective instructional and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to employees with varying levels of experience.
  • Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in classroom, shop, and active jobsite environments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during hands-on instruction
