Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager based in Canada.
This role sits within a fast-growing Product-Led Growth organization focused on turning product usage into sustainable revenue across a broad software platform. You will own lifecycle programs across multiple products, audiences, and stages, from activation and nurture through retention and renewal. The position combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution, giving you the opportunity to build, launch, QA, and optimize programs end to end. You will work closely with marketing, sales, data, growth engineering, design, and agency partners. A strong focus on audience validation, automation, technical product messaging, and operational rigor will be essential. This is an opportunity to help build a scalable lifecycle engine serving a large and growing user base.
- Own and build lifecycle marketing campaigns across email and in-product messaging for multiple products, audiences, and lifecycle stages, serving both end users and administrators.
- Design and execute large-scale programmatic campaigns, including recurring account health communications, using marketing automation and messaging platforms.
- Build and manage automated first-touch programs for product-qualified leads and inbound leads in partnership with business development and renewals teams.
- Partner with data and growth engineering teams to identify relevant product usage signals and validate audience data and targeting logic before campaigns launch.
- Manage suppression lists, contact governance, and audience rules to ensure campaigns reach the right users without excessive communication.
- Conduct thorough pre-send QA, live proofs, launch monitoring, and real-time troubleshooting, including resolving data synchronization issues.
- Translate technical product capabilities and usage signals into credible, useful messaging for developer and administrator audiences.
- Turn evolving priorities into a structured build queue and sequenced roadmap, identifying dependencies and capacity constraints early.
- Coordinate with design and agency partners to maintain campaign quality and delivery timelines.
- Establish consistent naming, tracking, and reporting practices so lifecycle programs and their performance remain visible across the organization.
- During the first 30 days, become familiar with the product-led growth motion, existing lifecycle programs, marketing technology stack, and key cross-functional relationships while auditing current programs and helping shape the roadmap.
- Within the first 90 days, take ownership of at least one complete lifecycle program, contribute to automated renewal outreach, and establish a reporting cadence.
- Over the longer term, manage a mature portfolio of lifecycle programs, demonstrate measurable impact on activation, retention, or renewal conversion, and help scale lifecycle marketing into a predictable, automated function.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience specifically in lifecycle marketing, ideally within a product-led growth or self-service business model.
- Proven ability to own marketing programs end to end, including strategy, audience development, build, QA, launch, and measurement.
- Hands-on experience with Marketo or an equivalent marketing automation platform, including campaign setup, audience builds, suppressions, contact governance, QA, proofs, and launch monitoring.
- Strong ability to work with data teams to validate record-level information, targeting logic, audience definitions, and the signals supporting campaigns. SQL experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience translating technical products or product usage signals into clear, credible messaging for developer, administrator, or other technically sophisticated audiences.
- Familiarity with developer ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, or complex multi-product software platforms.
- Strong understanding of user journeys across nurture, activation, retention, and renewal rather than focusing solely on individual campaigns.
- Senior-level judgment and independent ownership, with the ability to structure ambiguous priorities, manage dependencies, and move programs forward without detailed step-by-step direction.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working across marketing, sales, data, engineering, design, and external partners.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-changing environment.
- Authorization to work in the applicable location; visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.
Benefits:
- Compensation: CA$160,300–CA$229,000 plus equity for Canada-based employees.
- Remote-first work: Work remotely with access to offices for connection and collaboration.
- Flexible working: Autonomy to manage your schedule while meeting role expectations.
- Time off: Generous paid time off, quarterly wellness days, and an end-of-year wellness break.
- Home office support: Resources to help create a comfortable and effective home workspace.
- Technology stipend: Equivalent to US$100 net per month.
- Learning and development: Annual support for conferences, courses, certifications, and continued professional development.
- Parental leave: 16 weeks of paid parental leave after six months of employment.
- Equity: Equity participation for full-time employees.
- Comprehensive benefits: Medical, retirement, and paid holidays, with offerings varying by country.
- Additional perks: Company merchandise and opportunities to connect with colleagues through distributed-work initiatives.
