Description:

Position: Senior Web Designer

Requisition/Position Number: SWD

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Web Designer to provide reliable, responsive, and secure support for the customer’s internet, intranet, SharePoint portals, and web-based collaboration environments. In this role, you will serve as the central point of expertise for portal administration, content management, workflow development, and secure web accessibility across NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and other government networks. You will work closely with stakeholders across all customer divisions to gather requirements, design solutions, maintain existing sites, and ensure seamless access to critical information resources. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical skill with customer support, problem solving, and hands-on development in a mission-focused environment.

Capabilities

  • Provide technical support for internet, intranet, SharePoint portals, and web collaboration tools by responding to TrackIT/Footprints requests related to access, administration, and development needs.
  • Design, develop, and manage site content and capabilities for customer portals and websites, gathering requirements from Division stakeholders and serving as the central portal administrator for all content and site management activities.
  • Ensure secure and reliable web access through NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and other government WAN connections by coordinating with the Belvoir Network Enterprise Center (NEC) and network engineering teams.
  • Implement secure access controls, enabling SSL on all web servers and configuring CAC authentication through DoD PKI as the single sign-on mechanism for customer websites and SharePoint portals.
  • Apply current graphic design and .NET technologies to develop, modify, and maintain SharePoint server portals, addressing development and enhancement requests submitted through the ticketing system.
  • Develop software solutions by analyzing requirements, studying systems flow and data usage, and collaborating with stakeholders and IT Management to design, debug, test, and deploy functional applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software components using classic ASP, Microsoft .NET, and SharePoint Server versions 2007 through 2016, ensuring compatibility and maintainability across the software suite.
  • Create and implement SharePoint-based workflows by meeting with Division stakeholders to understand business processes and translating them into automated workflow solutions.
  • Develop business dashboards that provide real-time visual summaries of key information by gathering requirements and designing intuitive, data-driven displays.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, layouts, charts, code comments, and organized code libraries, using only customer approved applications for formatting and archiving.

Required Education, Training & Certifications

  • Certification aligned to an IAT-II or III, such as: Microsoft MCTS SharePoint, MCITP SharePoint Admin, or MCPD SharePoint developer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in server administration, network engineering, or enterprise systems support preferred
  • Strong technical foundation in Windows Server environments, enterprise networking, and secure system administration

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise SharePoint environments, including configuration, administration, workflow development, and site management.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET, classic ASP, and multi-version SharePoint environments (2007–2016).
  • Strong understanding of secure DoD environments, including PKI, CAC authentication, SSL configuration, and NIPR/SIPR connectivity.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support high-visibility technical requirements with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer-support skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, site owners, and IT leadership.
