Job Title: Foster CareCaseworker (Hybrid)
Location: Cook County, IL (Hybrid)
Salary: $56,992 annually + full benefits

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Foster Care Caseworker to support children, youth, families, and foster/adoptive homes through case management, placement support, home visits, documentation, and coordination with community resources and service providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with child placement and provide ongoing support to children and foster/adoptive homes.
  • Connect children, parents, and guardians with community resources based on family needs.
  • Maintain case records, reports, progress notes, itineraries, and required placement paperwork.
  • Conduct home visits and document progress toward service and permanency goals.
  • Coordinate transitions between foster homes and support family, school, psychiatric, team, ACR, and court-related activities.
  • Attend court hearings and testify when needed.

Preferred

  • CWEL certification
  • CERAP certification
  • Experience working with adolescents

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field required.
  • At least one year of child welfare-related experience and/or training required; experience working with adolescents preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, State of Illinois Driver’s License, valid vehicle insurance, and vehicle registration required.
  • State of Illinois CWEL and CERAP certification preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy required.
  • Must be willing to complete weekly youth visits, documentation, parent/sibling visits, monitored visits as needed, and transportation responsibilities.
