Job Description

Senior Manager, Accounting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting based in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of a fast-growing, AI-driven SaaS environment. The Senior Manager, Accounting will own the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across all financial processes. You will play a critical role in scaling financial operations while maintaining strong technical accounting standards under US GAAP. This is a hands-on, player-coach position combining strategic oversight with day-to-day execution, including close, payroll, and core accounting operations. You will collaborate closely with FP&A, Legal, Sales, and external auditors to support business growth and financial integrity. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and built for professionals who thrive in ownership-driven cultures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable processes while staying deeply engaged in execution.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the full accounting lifecycle, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP. Maintain and optimize the general ledger, chart of accounts, and fixed assets processes.
  • Lead technical accounting responsibilities, including ASC 606 revenue recognition for SaaS and usage-based models, deferred revenue management, and accounting research for evolving business models.
  • Personally manage payroll execution (e.g., ADP), while overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management to support cash flow optimization.
  • Coordinate audits and tax preparation processes, acting as the primary liaison with external auditors and ensuring readiness of financial statements and documentation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial systems to support growth and audit readiness.
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and Sales teams on forecasting, contract structuring, and financial decision-making.
  • Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering operational excellence and continuous process improvement.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role within a corporate or high-growth environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite, including daily system ownership and financial operations management.
  • Proven experience personally running payroll processes (e.g., ADP or equivalent), not limited to review or oversight.
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP, with strong, demonstrable experience applying ASC 606 in SaaS or subscription-based business models.
  • Background in technical accounting, audit coordination, and internal controls, ideally with exposure to fast-scaling or complex revenue environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build scalable processes in ambiguous or evolving settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification strongly preferred, with Big 4 or equivalent experience highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong “player-coach” mindset and ability to balance execution with team management.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $156,000 to $184,000, with additional equity participation
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage
  • Generous paid time off, parental leave, and flexible remote work environment (US-based)
  • Home office stipend and tools to support remote productivity
  • Equity incentive plan participation
  • Professional development opportunities and strong career growth pathways
  • Inclusive, collaborative culture with a strong focus on ownership and impact.
