Front-End Engineer (React Native / Expo)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Front-End Engineer (React Native / Expo) based in the United States.

Join a dynamic product-focused environment where you will play a key role in building and enhancing modern web and mobile experiences. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility Progressive Web Application used to deliver engaging user-facing features and seamless digital experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and backend engineers to bring innovative solutions to life. The role combines hands-on development with architectural input, allowing you to influence technical decisions while delivering scalable and performant applications. Accountabilities
  • Build, enhance, and maintain a React Native and Expo-based Progressive Web Application (PWA).
  • Develop responsive, intuitive, and visually engaging user interfaces based on approved product and design specifications.
  • Integrate front-end functionality with GraphQL APIs and backend services to support seamless user experiences.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization workflows using AWS Cognito.
  • Develop and maintain features related to event discovery, search, calendars, user profiles, and membership management.
  • Design and implement effective client-side state management and local data storage solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality application features.
  • Perform testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and production readiness activities to ensure reliability.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, and usability across web and mobile platforms.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and front-end architecture planning.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Front-End Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with React, React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience building and deploying applications using Expo.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
  • Solid understanding of GraphQL and experience integrating complex API-driven applications.
  • Experience implementing authentication and authorization systems in modern applications.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end architecture principles, application design patterns, and state management solutions.
  • Experience building data-intensive applications with multiple service integrations.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced product development environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with AWS Amplify is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS Cognito and AWS AppSync is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing membership, ticketing, booking, scheduling, marketplace, or similar customer-facing platforms is advantageous.
  • Previous startup or early-stage product development experience is a plus.
  • Experience optimizing application performance across both web and mobile environments is preferred.
