Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for a Seasonal Quality Assurance Supervisor to provide support and leadership to the plant’s quality assurance and sanitation functions, assists in managing the quality assurance team, and participates in continuous improvement initiatives. Assists with planning, coordination, and direction of quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. This leader will be responsible for assisting with monitoring the quality of the manufacturing process from incoming to finished product shipment, ensuring formulations and quality standards are adhered to, adequate sanitation standards are maintained at all times and packaging requirements match industry standards at our San Benito Foods plant in Hollister, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the direct supervision of lab personnel and ensures that all lab functions are correctly administered according to established standard operating procedures and applicable USDA regulations.
- Coordinates with QA Manager and Production Managers on production scheduling; relays and coordinates this information with appropriate QA staff.
- Interprets lab results and makes final adjustments when necessary. Assures that score sheets are provided to production in a timely manner.
- Assures that all required testing is completed and shift data is properly entered into the computer.
- Assures all lab and plant equipment are properly maintained, replaced, and/or calibrated, etc., prior to start-up of each shift. Communicates directly to the appropriate personnel about any deficiencies. Plans and organizes weekly cleaning and maintenance of lab equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, technical, or related field; advanced degree desirable; or any equivalent combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- 5 years’ progressively responsible experience in Quality Assurance Management in a food manufacturing business; minimum of one year direct supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment.
- Experience in the application and implementation of HACCP/PCHF/TQM /SQF; SQF, HACCP and PCQI preferred; PCQI and SQF or any GFSI system training preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check and credit screen.
