PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
The University of New Mexico has established branch colleges to serve the citizens of New Mexico and to provide the highest quality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education at different locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specifically to the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communities by offering community education programs, career education including certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs that prepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities.
The University of New Mexico-Gallup is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Operations Specialist/Dual Credit Coordinator to lead and grow our dual-credit and concurrent enrollment programs. This role serves as the central point of coordination between the institution and K-12 partners, ensuring that dual-credit offerings are compliant, well-administered, and provide a seamless experience for students, families, and school partners. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship-building skills with a solid understanding of education policy, data management, and program administration.

Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight
- Provide day-to-day oversight and administration of the institution's dual-credit and concurrent enrollment programs.
- Monitor program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement process enhancements.
- Coordinate course scheduling, instructor credentialing, and course approval processes in partnership with academic departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding dual-credit program operations.
- Prepare reports and presentations on program status for institutional leadership and governing bodies.
K-12 Partner Liaison
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with K-12 district administrators, counselors, and instructors.
- Serve as the main liaison between the institution and partner high schools, addressing questions and resolving issues as they arise.
- Facilitate regular communication and meetings with school partners to align program expectations, calendars, and updates.
- Represent the institution at K-12 partner events, counselor meetings, and community outreach activities.
Operating Agreements & Compliance
- Develop, negotiate, and maintain dual-credit operating/articulation agreements with K-12 partners.
- Ensure agreements align with applicable state statutes, administrative regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policy.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and proactively update agreements and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Collaborate with academic affairs, appropriate university administrative offices, and district partners to review and renew agreements on a regular cycle.
Admissions & Onboarding
- Design and continuously improve admissions processes specific to dual-credit students, ensuring clarity and ease of use for students, families, and school counselors.
- Develop onboarding materials and experiences (orientations, guides, welcome communications) to help students and parents understand expectations, responsibilities, and resources.
- Coordinate application, placement testing, registration, and enrollment verification processes with admissions and registrar offices.
- Provide training and support to high school counselors on institutional admissions requirements and procedures.
Data Collection & Outcomes Tracking
- Collect, maintain, and analyze data related to dual-credit enrollment, course completion, grades, and student outcomes.
- Track longitudinal outcomes such as persistence, GPA, and degree/credential completion for former dual-credit students.
- Prepare data reports for internal decision-making, state reporting requirements, and accreditation or grant purposes.
- Identify trends and opportunities for program improvement based on outcome data.
