Product Owner Lead (Payments)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Owner Lead (Payments) based in Ireland.

Lead the product direction for a portfolio of payment products, including payment aggregation, integrations, and related services.
Shape a shared product vision and align priorities with broader business objectives and customer needs.
Guide and mentor Product Owners while ensuring strong collaboration across product, technical, and operational teams.
Own the delivery of the core payment aggregator service and help ensure reliable execution across the wider payments domain.
Work directly with B2B customers to understand requirements, support integrations, and participate in technical discussions.
Drive improvements to product processes, documentation, analytics, and standards within a fast-moving international environment.
Help build scalable payment solutions while balancing customer experience, technical complexity, operational needs, and business priorities.

Accountabilities
  • Define and maintain a shared vision for payment products, including payment aggregation, payment integrations, and supporting services, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to align and prioritize the product roadmap across the payments domain.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Product Owners, supporting them with prioritization, stakeholder management, and product decision-making.
  • Act as Product Owner for the team responsible for developing the core payment aggregator service.
  • Oversee high-quality and timely delivery across payment product areas, coordinating priorities and resolving delivery challenges.
  • Work directly with B2B customers to gather and validate requirements, coordinate integrations, participate in technical discussions, and monitor SLA execution.
  • Coordinate dependencies and collaboration between product, engineering, technical, and operational teams, including resolving complex issues and conflicts.
  • Establish and improve shared product processes, standards, and ways of working across the payments function.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date product documentation in collaboration with technical writers, including API documentation and integration guides.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Product Owner, including at least 1 year in a Lead role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in the payments domain, including PSPs, payment gateways, payment orchestration, antifraud solutions, reconciliation, and transaction matching.
  • Intermediate-level English or higher, with confidence in both written and spoken communication.
  • Experience managing the full product lifecycle, from discovery and validation through delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience with B2B products, including customer communication, requirements gathering, and integration management.
  • Practical understanding of Product Discovery, Product Delivery, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with API-first products, including the ability to read API specifications and work with logs and transaction data.
  • Working knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, together with a basic understanding of UX/UI principles.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, prioritization, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience in gambling or betting is considered an advantage but is not essential.
  • Additional value comes from experience integrating with third-party casino platforms, working with crypto payments or alternative payment methods, or understanding PCI DSS, AML/KYC, and payment regulations.
  • Familiarity with payment analytics and metrics such as conversion rate, approval rate, and provider-level success rates is a plus.
  • Knowledge of product testing processes and quality assurance practices is also beneficial.
