Logistics Specialist/Ship Maintenance Support - Repair Planning Cell (RPC)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Logistics Specialist/Ship Maintenance Support - Repair Planning Cell (RPC) based in United States.

This role supports routine maintenance logistics and planning activities for major ship overhaul programs.
You will contribute to depot-level engineering planning by ensuring materials, equipment, and services are accurately identified and procured.
The position plays an important role in maintaining procurement readiness and keeping vessel maintenance activities on schedule.
You will work closely with logistics, procurement, engineering, and project teams to monitor material availability and resolve delivery issues.
The role combines data management, government contracting requirements, procurement coordination, and detailed administrative support.
Success requires strong organization, accuracy, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Review depot-level ship availability work packages to identify required materials, equipment, and services associated with Government-Furnished requirements.
  • Prepare and submit procurement packages, including MOR and Commodity Order requests, while ensuring compliance with technical specifications and applicable standards such as SWI, PMIA, T-ALT, and VRR.
  • Monitor procurement actions, identify potential delays or issues, and coordinate timely resolutions to support project schedules.
  • Maintain accurate GFM/GFE listings for individual vessel availability work packages and ensure information remains current throughout the planning cycle.
  • Develop and maintain detailed tracking systems for GFM/GFE delivery schedules, ensuring required materials are procured and delivered before project start dates.
  • Coordinate with ILS and logistics representatives to monitor delivery timelines, address potential delays, and provide accurate procurement and delivery status updates.
  • Analyze and maintain GFM reports and communicate procurement progress and delivery milestones to relevant project teams.
  • Identify and escalate missing or delayed GFM and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop solutions or alternative procurement options.
  • Partner with APC teams to address logistics support requirements and keep project schedules aligned with material availability.
  • Manage procurement-related communications, documentation, and reporting to ensure alignment with project objectives, requirements, and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • High school diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience, an associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in data entry and logistics functions within a related field.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable contractual requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on accuracy across database, procurement, and administrative activities.
  • Experience with the Shipboard Automated Maintenance Management (SAMM) database for afloat and ashore operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MSC logistics systems such as CMLS, PMT, ProTrack, and ShipCLIP is preferred.
  • Experience with MSC logistics processes, including Material and Service Order Requests, ERP functions, SPS contracting, and GFM reporting, is preferred.
