About the Role:
The Janitor position within the manufacturing industry is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment that supports efficient production operations. This role involves comprehensive janitorial duties including cleaning, sanitizing, and upkeep of commercial buildings and manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. The janitor will also be responsible for handling specialized cleaning tasks involving stainless steel surfaces and equipment, which are common in manufacturing settings. Additionally, the role requires occasional operation of a box truck for transporting supplies and materials, as well as performing landscaping and lawn care to maintain the exterior premises. Ultimately, the janitor contributes to a productive workplace by ensuring all areas are well-maintained, safe, and visually presentable, supporting both employee well-being and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work within a commercial or industrial setting.
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects regularly throughout the workday.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Basic computer literacy to complete work orders and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for operating a box truck.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or with stainless steel equipment.
- Previous experience in landscaping or lawn care maintenance.
- Certification in occupational safety or related training.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles such as box trucks.
- Knowledge of environmentally friendly cleaning products and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of floors, restrooms, offices, and manufacturing areas using appropriate janitorial tools and chemicals.
- Maintain and clean stainless steel surfaces and equipment to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with industry hygiene standards.
- Operate a box truck safely to transport cleaning supplies, equipment, and other materials as needed within the facility or between locations.
- Conduct landscaping and lawn care duties including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep of outdoor areas to maintain a professional facility appearance.
- Adhere strictly to safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies as required, following proper ergonomic and safety guidelines to avoid injury.
- Utilize basic computer skills to log maintenance activities, report issues, and communicate with facility management.
Schedule: Monday through Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
