Description:

Objective: The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for owning inventory flow and replenishment decisions across the organization to ensure optimal product availability while balancing working capital and inventory turns. This role is responsible for translating demand signals into actionable purchasing and deployment decisions, maintaining the right inventory in the right place at the right time.This is a high-ownership, decision-making role requiring strong analytical capability, business judgment, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities: Inventory Ownership & Replenishment

  • Own inventory replenishment strategy and execution across assigned product lines and locations
  • Set and manage reorder points, safety stock levels, and order quantities
  • Make daily/weekly purchasing and transfer decisions based on demand, supply constraints, and business priorities
  • Monitor inventory health including stockouts, excess, and slow-moving items
  • Balance the three points of time, cost, and quality to bring the greatest value to BVS inventory investments

Demand & Supply Alignment

  • Translate demand forecasts, historical trends, and sales insights into replenishment plans
  • Partner closely with Sales and Operations to align on priorities and constraints
  • Adjust plans proactively based on seasonality, promotions, and market changes

Performance Management

  • Drive key metrics including fill rate, service level, days of inventory on hand, inventory turns, and working capital
  • Identify and resolve root causes of service failures and inventory imbalances
  • Continuously improve replenishment parameters and planning logic

Supplier & Procurement Collaboration

  • Coordinate on supplier constraints, lead times, MOQs, and buying strategies
  • Support execution of buying programs and ensure alignment with supplier agreements
  • Provide input into supplier performance and inventory strategies
  • Arrange and leverage logistics resources to arrange freight at the most economical levels

Systems & Data Management

  • Submit Purchase Orders to suppliers as needed for inventory and spot buy purchasing
  • Leverage the ERP system Sage X3 and other planning tools to manage replenishment and order processing
  • Maintain data accuracy for lead times, order multiples, and planning parameters.
  • Develop reporting and insights to improve decision-making

Key Metrics (KPIs)

  • Fill Rate / Service Level
  • Inventory Turns
  • Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH)
  • Stockout Frequency & Backorders
  • Excess & Obsolete Inventory
  • Working Capital Efficiency
Requirements:

· Due to the nature of the business Supply Chain Planners must consent to and have the ability to pass a pre-employment and annual drug test and extensive federal-level background check.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

· Confident decision-maker with ability to balance competing priorities

· Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required

· Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority

· Ownership mindset—takes responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks

· Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making decisions with imperfect data

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail

· Continuous improvement mindset

Education and Experience:

· High school degree/GED required.

· Degree in business administration, supply chain, or a related field preferred.

· 2-5+ years in supply chain, inventory planning, replenishment, or demand planning

· Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or multi-location inventory environments preferred

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting, driving or at a desk and working on a computer.

· The ability to work with and around industrial hazards.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time.

· Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.

· May require travel to other locations.
