POSITION SUMMARY
Tanglewood Resort is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and guest-focused Front Desk Night Auditor to join our team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional overnight guest service while completing the resort’s daily financial and operational closing procedures.
The Night Auditor serves as a key point of contact for guests during overnight hours and must be comfortable working independently, handling guest concerns, completing detailed reports, and ensuring the Front Desk is prepared for the next business day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service & Front Desk
Welcome and assist guests in a friendly, professional manner.
Perform guest check-ins and check-outs accurately.
Answer incoming telephone calls and assist with guest questions and requests.
Assist guests with room, resort, amenity, and property information.
Address guest concerns promptly and professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Monitor Front Desk activity and help maintain a safe, professional environment throughout the overnight shift.
Communicate important guest or operational information to the incoming Front Desk team and management.
Night Audit & Financial Responsibilities
Complete all required nightly audit procedures accurately and on time.
Review guest folios, room charges, payments, adjustments, and other transactions for accuracy.
Verify that appropriate charges have been posted to guest accounts.
Reconcile daily Front Desk transactions, payments, and reports.
Identify discrepancies and research or report them according to resort procedures.
Complete required Night Audit reports and organize documentation for management and Accounting.
Follow all Tanglewood Resort cash-handling, credit-card, room-charge, and financial-control procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and protect guest and resort financial information.
Overnight Operations
Complete all required Night Auditor checklists and assigned overnight duties.
Review resort communications, group information, and applicable BEOs to stay informed of upcoming guest needs and events.
Prepare the Front Desk for the following morning's operations.
Communicate maintenance, housekeeping, safety, security, and guest-service concerns to the appropriate department or manager.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established resort procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional Front Desk and lobby area.
Perform additional duties as assigned based on resort operations and guest needs.
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
Previous hotel Front Desk, Night Audit, hospitality, customer service, or cash-handling experience preferred.
Hotel Night Audit experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numbers and reports.
Comfortable using computers, hotel property-management systems, email, and standard office equipment.
Ability to learn Tanglewood Resort systems and procedures.
Strong communication and guest-service skills.
Ability to remain calm and professional when handling guest complaints or unexpected situations.
Dependable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
Must be comfortable working independently during overnight hours.
Ability to exercise good judgment and know when to contact management for assistance.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
This is an overnight position. Candidates must be available to work scheduled overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the operational needs of Tanglewood Resort.
Reliable attendance is essential for this position because the Night Auditor is responsible for completing critical end-of-day procedures and maintaining Front Desk coverage overnight.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during the shift.
Ability to use a computer and other standard Front Desk equipment.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items associated with normal Front Desk and resort operations.
Ability to communicate clearly with guests, team members, and management.
