Community Support Coordinator in North Shore/Barrington Area, Illinois at WINGS Program, Inc.

Under the direction of the Director of Community-Based Services, the Community Support Coordinator supports the day-to-day coordination of the Program in Northshore and Barrington communities. This position supports mentor recruitment, participant coordination, documentation, and routine communication while following program guidelines, agency policies, and trauma-informed practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Support the recruitment, screening, interviewing, onboarding, and ongoing support of Community Mentors in accordance with established program procedures.

· Help coordinate mentor applications, training logistics, resources, and routine communication with mentors, mentees, staff, and community partners.

· Support program activities, outreach efforts, and implementation of established policies, procedures, and trauma-informed practices.

· Conduct participant intakes and screenings, help coordinate mentor matches, and track mentoring relationships using established program tools.

· Notify the director of concerns or changes that may affect participant safety, mentor support, or program needs.

· Provide routine support and guidance to mentors and mentees within established program guidelines while maintaining confidentiality, safety-focused practices, and professional boundaries.

· Maintain program records, mentor files, documentation, data entry, and reporting information accurately and timely.

· Participate in meetings, trainings, case consultations, and collaborative activities as assigned.

· Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence, volunteer programs, homelessness services, or other trauma-affected populations required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

· Completion of 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training required within the first month if not already completed; ICDVP credential preferred.

· Ability to use communication, organization, attention to detail, dependability, teamwork, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and trauma-informed service skills in routine program support required.

· Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

· Ability to work some evenings and weekends and travel between Northshore and/or Barrington communities/work locations required.

· Lived experience as a survivor of intimate partner violence is required.
