Job Description

Summary:

The Business Banking Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with business clients by providing loan and deposit products, cash management services, payment solutions, and a broad range of commercial lending products to meet clients' financing and capital needs. This position actively solicits new business relationships within the community, grows existing customer relationships, and serves as a trusted financial advisor while identifying opportunities for referrals to Community Financial Advisors. Promotes the Bank's products and services, maintains a high-quality loan portfolio, supports market growth initiatives, and serves as a positive ambassador of the Bank throughout the communities it serves.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Prospects in and out of the office to bring in new business customers, and develop and work centers of influence to expand the customer base.
    Build and maintain a network of centers of influence including attorneys, accountants, real estate professionals, and other referral sources to expand the customer base. Develop and grow deposit, treasury management, payment solutions, and lending relationships within assigned markets. Assist Central Market Leader with production, business development functions, (Deposit and Loans) within Market Areas.Structures and completes various documents and software used in the lending process. Builds and maintains relationships with community and civic groups and represents Bank at related events. Develop, prepare and present professional and customized loan and deposit proposals for new and current customers.Develop strong customer relationships in order to generate a high volume of prospective customers and referrals to associates.Reviews loan requests in a thorough and timely manner, and present recommendation for approval or denial of requests in a format consistent with Bank policy and regulatory guidelines. Works with existing book of business customers to ensure business and personal cross-sell, capture of entire relationship, and improved customer retention, to increase Bank balance and revenue growth. Manages loan portfolio credit quality and maintains low delinquency consistent with Bank guidelines. Monitors loans booked to maintain compliance with loan agreement and Bank policy. Utilize systems to record and track sales activity, evaluates results of business banking activity regularly and reports monthly results to Central Market Leader (Deposits and Loans), or as needed or directed.Identify opportunities and make referrals to Community Financial Advisors and other bank specialists as appropriate.Assist in growing business deposits throughout the Bank's market footprint, with a particular focus on strategic growth initiatives and market expansion.

    Assist Financial Services Officer, as directed by Central Market Leader, with all cash management services, to include but not limited to, new accounts, account maintenance, research.Assist Financial Services Officer, as directed by Central Market Leader, with deposit proposals for private or public funds.Analyze financial information, collateral, repayment capacity, and credit risk.Present recommendations for loan approval or denial consistent with Bank policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.Assist customers throughout the business lending process, including loan structure, documentation, and closing.Support portfolio growth through prudent underwriting and relationship management.Manage assigned loan portfolio to maintain strong credit quality and acceptable risk levels. Monitor loans to ensure ongoing compliance with loan agreements, Bank policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain delinquency and credit quality metrics within established Bank guidelines. Conduct periodic customer reviews and relationship assessments. Respond to customer inquiries regarding business loans, deposit relationships, and related banking services. Provide recommendations regarding product enhancements, service improvements, and new business development opportunities.Identify underperforming products and services and recommend upgrades, modifications, or discontinuation when appropriate. Support the development and introduction of new products and services that improve customer satisfaction and Bank profitability. Support branch growth initiatives and market development activities.Assist with business banking operations, customer onboarding, and business loan administration as needed.Serve as a resource and backup support for key branch personnel and business banking team members.Participate in training and development activities to broaden business banking knowledge and expertise.Promote a favorable image of the Bank through participation in community, civic, and business organizations.Represent the Bank professionally in all interactions with customers, prospects, and community stakeholders.Positively represent and reinforce the Company's culture, mission, and values.Follow and support all Company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.Achieve annual production, portfolio, deposit, and performance goals as assigned.Complete all required regulatory compliance and cybersecurity training programs.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, the Business Banking Relationship Manager may assist with onboarding, coaching, and mentoring new employees and support staff as needed.

Education, Training and Experience

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.One to two years of related banking, commercial lending, business development, or financial services experience; orEquivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Experience in business banking, credit analysis, loan underwriting, treasury management, and deposit acquisition preferred.Experience utilizing loan origination and portfolio management software, including Abrigo or similar systems, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, credit memorandums, and procedure documentation.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, prospects, and the public.
Mathematical Skills

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, commissions, percentages, ratios, and loan payment structures.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, financial analysis, and cash flow calculations.
Reasoning Ability

    Ability to solve practical problems and evaluate a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to analyze financial statements, business trends, and credit risks to make sound lending recommendations.
Technical Skills

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.Familiarity with commercial lending systems, core banking systems, and customer relationship management software.Ability to learn and effectively utilize Abrigo and other Bank technology platforms.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Required:

    Ohio NMLS LicenseValid Driver's LicenseOhio Limited Lines Insurance License
Preferred:

    Ohio Notary Public Commission
Working Conditions

    Frequent travel within the Bank's market area to meet with customers, prospects, and referral sources.Regular attendance at community, networking, and business development events.Combination of office, branch, and customer-site work environments.Occasional evening and weekend activities may be required to support business development and community engagement efforts.
Physical Demands

    Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically.Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.Ability to travel throughout assigned markets and communities.
