Job Description
Department: Body Shop
Functions: Direct the activities of body shop technicians in performing body repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels and maintaining quality standards.
Relationships:
- Reports to: Body Shop Manager
- Supervises: All body shop personnel
Responsibilities and Authority:
- Forecast goals and objectives for the production department and strive to meet them.
- Collaborate efficiently with all other body shop departments.
- Attend manager’s meetings.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
- Motivate, direct and monitor all body shop production staff.
- Direct and schedule the activities of production staff.
- Provide technical assistance to staff as needed.
- Conduct daily production meetings with CCAs to update status of all vehicles.
- Monitor body shop technician’s payroll records.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
- Quality-check completed jobs.
- Maintain awareness of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
- Ensure that the production work areas are clean.
- Track vehicles to ensure target delivery dates are met.
- Maintain operation and safety of shop equipment and advise manager when maintenance or replacement is needed.
- Move customer and Kelley owned vehicles in and out of the body shop.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary per Management.
Qualifications:
Able to read and comprehend instructions and information. Two years of experience in an auto body repair facility. Working knowledge and formal training, or the equivalent experience, of body repair methods. One-year supervisory experience. Excellent communication and managerial skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record to drive customer and Kelley owned vehicles.
Working Conditions:
The body shop manager will work at a desk within the body shop. She/He will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, fumes, heat, cold and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
