Renewable Energy Mid - Senior M&A Attorney

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Renewable Energy Mid - Senior M&A Attorney based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for an experienced transactional attorney to lead sophisticated M&A matters within the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector. You’ll take ownership of acquisitions and dispositions involving renewable energy projects and portfolios, with a particular focus on solar and battery storage. The role combines complex legal analysis, transaction management, negotiation, and close collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary experts. You’ll work across critical project agreements, including EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, and other underlying energy contracts. As a senior member of a distributed legal team, you’ll have significant autonomy while managing associates and coordinating multiple deal workflows. The position is ideal for an attorney seeking meaningful, industry-shaping work while contributing to the transition toward a more sustainable energy future.

Accountabilities
  • Lead M&A transactions involving renewable energy projects and portfolios, with particular emphasis on acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Manage transactions from initial planning and due diligence through negotiation, documentation, and closing.
  • Lead and coordinate M&A due diligence reviews, including the analysis of underlying renewable energy contracts such as EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, and related agreements.
  • Manage multiple transaction workflows simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, risks, and priorities remain clearly tracked.
  • Identify, engage, and coordinate appropriate subject matter experts throughout transactions.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize transactional and supporting legal documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, attorneys, associates, consultants, and other professionals on complex M&A matters.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance and practical recommendations throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Manage and mentor associates while ensuring high-quality and timely work product.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis relevant to renewable energy transactions and emerging industry issues.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable firm policies, practices, and priorities.
  • Contribute to other legal and strategic projects as requested by firm leadership.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of law firm experience serving clients in renewable energy or closely related industries.
  • Substantial experience leading and managing acquisitions and dispositions of renewable energy projects and portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy transactions and underlying agreements, particularly EPCs, O&Ms, PPAs, and related project contracts.
  • Experience in the solar and/or battery storage sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and oversee the work of associates and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent deal management, organization, drafting, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and contract drafting capabilities.
  • Ability to independently manage matters while collaborating effectively within a distributed, multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a transaction-driven environment.
  • Admission to and active good standing with the Bar of the applicant’s state of residence.
  • Genuine commitment to advancing renewable energy and contributing to a mission-driven legal environment.
Benefits
  • Base salary of $220,000+, with final compensation determined based on experience, relevant expertise, business needs, and market factors.
  • Published compensation range of approximately $235,000–$280,000+, depending on experience.
