This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day store and warehouse operations across incoming and outgoing materials, production processes, and job-work activities. The position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory, efficient material movement, and adherence to established operating procedures. You will supervise a team while coordinating closely with supply chain and other departments to resolve operational issues quickly. The role requires strong inventory control, reporting, and decision-making capabilities within a manufacturing environment. You will also contribute to workplace organization, safety, and process efficiency through disciplined operational practices. - Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily store and warehouse activities covering incoming and outgoing materials, electroplating, grinding and buffing, and job-work operations.
- Manage the movement of materials between different manufacturing and processing stages, ensuring timely and accurate transfers.
- Ensure all stores and material-handling activities are performed according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Supervise and support the store team, providing direction, coordinating workloads, and maintaining effective day-to-day operations.
- Monitor finished goods (FG) and semi-finished goods (SFG) inventory levels and make appropriate decisions regarding stock control and replenishment.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels and provide regular inventory and operational reports to management.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues promptly by coordinating with relevant departmental heads and stakeholders.
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with daily business operations, internal service requirements, customer-related activities, and merchandising responsibilities.
- Implement measures to minimize stock damage, theft, wastage, and other inventory-related losses in line with management guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and timely operational reporting and ensure relevant store records are complete and up to date.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of annual stock-taking activities at the end of the financial year.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas in accordance with 5S principles.
- Address internal department concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and applicable workplace safety practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent graduation qualification with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in stores, warehouse, inventory, or supply chain operations, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Materials Management (SAP MM) and Production Planning (SAP PP) modules.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, stock monitoring, material movement, and warehouse processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, press shop, machine shop, forging, paint shop, pressure die casting, and electroplating is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the architectural hardware industry is preferred.
- Strong people-management and team-supervision capabilities, with the ability to lead employees and coordinate daily activities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple departments and management levels.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple operational requirements while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
