Position Summary:
The Departmentof Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at University of New Mexico HealthSciences is eager to put together the right package for individuals with apassion for clinical psychology and academics, coupled with an interest injoining a team of talented, caring and dedicated faculty members. Applicationsare being accepted for an academic faculty clinical psychologist, suitable for anappointment at the Open Rank. Positions are currently available in theCommunity Behavioral Health Division. Research involvement is required forapplicants. This position includes both clinical and academic opportunities.
As a member ofour supportive and collegial department, the person selected will haveopportunities for multi-cultural clinical care with an emphasis on thetreatment of Native American populations. Scholarly activities are available,including collaboration with colleagues across the health sciences campus andin rural communities across the state. There is potential for professionaldevelopment in leadership and administration within UNM Health Sciences. Educational activities include teaching and administration of seminars,mentoring and supervision of trainees in our APA Accredited Clinical PsychologyPre-Doctoral Internship Program, as well as medical students, residents,fellows, post docs, trainees in related disciplines, and participation in educationalcommittees. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience andacademic background.

- Doctoral degreein clinical psychology or related field
- Clinicalexperience, minimum 1 year
- Licensed in NewMexico
- Must beeligible to work in the United States
- Experienceworking with Native American communities in New Mexico providing clinical careto Pueblo populations.
- Experienceproviding integrated behavioral health services in a primary care setting withNative American populations across the lifespan.
- Experienceworking on suicide prevention efforts
PreferredQualifications:
- Educational,teaching and supervision experience with psychology interns, post doctoralfellows and/or trainees in multiple disciplines.
- Experience withworking with Native American populations, especially from Pueblo communities inNew Mexico.
- A demonstratedcommitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of NewMexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and globalcommunities.
- Experienceproviding Dialectic Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. andCognitive Behavioral Therapy for Suicide Prevention.
- Experienceworking in Indian Health Services primary care clinics providing integratedbehavioral health care.
- Experienceworking on research initiatives related to integrated care.
- Experience ingrant writing and administering federal grants.
- Experiencewriting technical reports for policymakers.
- Experience withcultural adaptation of evidence based and best practices.
- Experienceworking with the Indian Health Services on suicide prevention efforts.
- Experiencefacilitating webinars on evidence-based practice implementation in tribalcommunities and with Native American populations.
