Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the RD Common Pool Manager is to lead a centralized team of specialized validation engineers across five critical disciplines: Environmental Testing, Thermal, Vibration/Shock, Regulatory Compliance/Certification, and System Integration Testing (SIT).This position directly contributes by acting as the organization’s centralized quality gatekeeper, optimizing resource allocation across multiple overlapping AI server and rack product lines, and ensuring that all newly integrated systems pass rigorous hardware, environmental, and global compliance benchmarks before product release.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- · Manage and coordinate shared R&D laboratory resources, equipment, testing capacity, and schedules across multiple projects to maximize utilization, resolve resource conflicts, and ensure engineering activities are completed according to project priorities and timelines.
- · Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams, establish technical standards and operating procedures, and provide oversight to ensure engineering activities are executed consistently, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational and project requirements.
- · Oversee product certification and regulatory compliance activities across applicable global markets by coordinating testing, documentation, and certification requirements with internal teams and external agencies to support timely product qualification and market readiness.
- · Provide technical oversight for test strategies, engineering reviews, and validation criteria while leading the evaluation of complex test failures and technical issues to identify root causes, drive corrective actions, and ensure products meet established engineering and quality requirements.
- · Establish and maintain laboratory and facility safety policies, conduct operational and safety audits, and coordinate corrective actions to ensure R&D activities comply with internal safety standards and applicable operational requirements.
Education:
- · Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
Experience:
- · 4+ years of Hardware Validation Engineering & Lab Operations (Server/Rack Level)
- · 3+ years of Cross-Functional People & Matrixed Pool Management
- · 2+ years of Global Regulatory Compliance & Product Certification
- · 3+ years of High-Stress Reliability Testing (Thermal, Environmental, Shock/Vibration)
- · 2+ years of System Integration Testing (SIT) & Infrastructure Integration (L10/L11)
- · 2+ years of Industrial Lab Safety & US Compliance Enforcement
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
The position primarily work in an office, engineering, and laboratory environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally walk through labs, prototype, and manufacturing areas. May lift or carry equipment and hardware up to 30 lbs. with assistance for heavier items. Requires visual attention to technical details and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
