Assistant Site Directors report directly to the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation Kids’ Time Administration. The Assistant Site Director position requires a thirty-two (32) to forty (40) hour time commitment each week.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Site Director provides support and leadership including oversight of staff and children at designated Kids’ Time locations, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment while maintaining full compliance with DHHS licensing requirements. This role includes partnering with the Site Director on managing staff, overseeing daily operations, and upholding safety and program standards.

Location: Open/Flexible must work both AM&PM Shift - Bellevue Public Schools Foundation Kids' Time Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:15 AM – 8:00 AM & 1:30 PM – 6:00 PM (some evenings/weekends for training & meetings)

Requirements:
  1. Minimum Age: 19 years
  2. Education: High school diploma or GED
  3. Experience: Must meet one of the following:
  4. Two years of experience working with children in structured group settings (verified reference required).
  5. 6 credit hours or 36 clock hours of DHHS-approved child development training. CDA Credential, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Child Care Administration).
  6. Maintain CPR & First Aid (or ability to obtain)
  7. Complete Background Checks (completed prior to hire):Nebraska Child Abuse & Neglect RegistryNebraska Adult Abuse Central RegistryFBI Fingerprint Background Check (required for candidates 18+)
  8. Have reliable transportation required
  9. and ability to complete Employment Eligibility verified through Verify

Ability to:

  • Create and maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment that supports developmentally appropriate activities and aligns with all DHHS child care licensing requirements.
  • Ensure active supervision at all times to support the safety, well-being, and engagement of all children in care.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues to foster a supportive, inclusive environment.
  • Promote a team-oriented culture grounded in trust, open communication, and mutual respect.
  • Collaborate in billing processes, including DHHS subsidy billing, and assist with maintaining accurate family ledgers and account records.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records in alignment with licensing and billing requirements.
  • Utilize childcare management software to support attendance tracking, communication, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Meet all required training and professional development hours as outlined by the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation and DHHS.
  • Provide coaching and support to staff, including modeling appropriate guidance techniques and assisting in onboarding or training as needed.
  • Actively contribute to planning and preparation for Summer Camp and out-of-school day programming.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in completing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the overall success of the program.
  • Meet and ensure that all site staff are currently in CPR and First Aid Certification, meeting the annual training requirements approved by the DHHS Licensing.
