Acting as a key advisor to practice leaders, you will translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes through structured planning, financial analysis, and process optimization. The role has a strong impact on profitability, productivity, and client service quality across teams and offices. You will collaborate closely with attorneys, finance, HR, marketing, and business development functions. This is a highly cross-functional and influential position, suited for a leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. Accountabilities

You will be responsible for leading operational strategy execution across practice groups, ensuring alignment with firm objectives and driving measurable improvements in performance and efficiency. This includes financial oversight, resource optimization, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Partner with practice leaders to design and implement operational plans aligned with strategic goals and growth priorities.
  • Oversee day-to-day practice operations, including workflow coordination, resource planning, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor financial and performance metrics such as revenue, utilization, realization, profitability, and client trends, providing actionable insights.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and matter management activities in collaboration with finance and practice leadership.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, standardize processes, and enhance client service delivery across teams and offices.
  • Contribute to attorney staffing models, onboarding, integration, and workload/capacity planning.
  • Coordinate with HR, Marketing, and Business Development on talent, client-facing initiatives, and strategic growth efforts.
  • Drive implementation of operational tools, dashboards, and legal technology solutions to support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements

This role requires extensive experience in operations or practice management within complex, professional services or legal environments, combined with strong financial and leadership capabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, legal studies, management, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in legal operations, practice management, or professional services operations.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Deep understanding of law firm economics, billing structures, and attorney productivity metrics.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills with a focus on execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with executive presence and influencing ability.
  • High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with reporting or practice management systems.
  • MBA, JD, or other advanced degree, as well as experience in multi-office firms, is a plus.
