This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a VmWare (Virtualization) Engineer in India.
This role is part of a global IT support and infrastructure environment focused on ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise virtualization platforms. You will work on supporting and troubleshooting VMware-based infrastructure, helping resolve complex technical incidents while contributing to continuous service improvement initiatives. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering, operations, and support teams to ensure seamless platform availability. You will act as a key technical resource for incident resolution, monitoring, and escalation management within a cloud and virtualized systems environment. The role offers exposure to modern enterprise technologies, ITSM processes, and large-scale distributed systems. It is well suited for a technically curious professional who enjoys problem-solving in fast-paced, service-driven environments.
You will be responsible for supporting VMware virtualization environments, ensuring system stability, resolving technical incidents, and contributing to continuous improvement of infrastructure support services.
- Provide L2 technical support for VMware virtualization platforms and related infrastructure components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to cloud and virtualized environments, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Monitor system performance and respond to alerts using enterprise monitoring tools and frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Support ITSM processes including incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
- Analyze logs, system data, and debugging outputs to identify root causes and implement fixes.
- Assist in maintaining documentation, knowledge bases, and support procedures.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and best practices for platform reliability and support efficiency.
This role requires hands-on experience in IT support and virtualization environments, along with strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with cloud, networking, and IT service management concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Moderate experience in customer-facing technical support or infrastructure support roles.
- Hands-on experience working with VMware virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud and web application components and troubleshooting practices.
- Understanding of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration) and ITIL frameworks.
- Knowledge of networking and monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM, SolarWinds) is preferred.
- Basic understanding of protocols such as HTTP, TCP, FTP/SFTP, REST, and SOAP.
- Familiarity with log analysis, debugging practices, and system troubleshooting.
- Exposure to ServiceNow (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, FSM) is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in global teams.
