Advisory Sales Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Advisory Sales Engineer in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of advanced AI infrastructure and enterprise customer engagement, supporting some of the most demanding high-performance computing and data-driven environments in the world. You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, helping customers translate complex data challenges into scalable, high-performance storage architectures. Working across industries such as AI research, finance, life sciences, and autonomous systems, you will design solutions that enable breakthrough workloads and mission-critical innovation. The position blends deep technical expertise with consultative sales skills, requiring the ability to communicate clearly with both engineering teams and executive stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping solution design through proofs of concept, benchmarking, and architecture development. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role in a fast-evolving environment at the forefront of AI and data infrastructure.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will partner with customers and internal teams to design and deliver high-performance storage solutions that support advanced AI and data-intensive workloads.

  • Engage with customers to understand complex technical and business requirements across AI, HPC, and data-driven environments
  • Design scalable storage architectures supporting AI/ML training, analytics, simulation, and GPU-accelerated workloads
  • Translate customer needs into technical solutions, including system design, BOM creation, and technical proposals
  • Deliver proofs of concept, live demonstrations, and performance benchmarking to validate solution effectiveness
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales and solutioning lifecycle
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to incorporate field insights into product evolution
  • Integrate storage solutions with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, GPU clusters, and AI frameworks
  • Ensure designs meet requirements for performance, scalability, security, and reliability
  • Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and mentorship within the sales engineering team
Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong storage infrastructure expertise with customer-facing consulting and solution architecture experience in high-performance environments.

  • 3–8+ years of experience in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting roles
  • Strong understanding of storage systems and architectures (SAN, NAS, object storage, parallel file systems)
  • Experience with data protocols such as S3, NFS, SMB, and POSIX
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, RDMA, and InfiniBand
  • Experience designing infrastructure for AI/ML, HPC, or high-performance computing workloads
  • Ability to develop technical proposals, architectures, and solution designs for enterprise customers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Customer-facing experience with success in managing technical sales cycles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with curiosity for AI and emerging technologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, evolving technical environments
