JOB OVERVIEW
The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist serves as the front door of Azure's employee experience by coordinating recruiting activities, supporting hiring managers, and delivering a welcoming, organized, and mission-aligned onboarding experience for new employees.
This role is responsible for managing candidate pipelines, coordinating interviews, supporting selection processes, facilitating new hire onboarding, and ensuring a seamless transition from candidate to employee. The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist works closely with hiring managers, Employee Services, and HR leadership to attract qualified candidates and create a positive first impression of Azure's culture and values.
ROLE PURPOSE
To attract, engage, and successfully onboard mission-aligned talent while creating a positive candidate and new hire experience that supports long-term employee success and retention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruiting Coordination & Candidate Experience
• Coordinate recruiting activities across multiple departments and locations.
• Manage job postings across recruiting platforms and internal systems.
• Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings as appropriate.
• Coordinate interview scheduling and communication between candidates and hiring managers.
• Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruiting records.
• Ensure timely and professional communication throughout the hiring process.
• Support candidate sourcing efforts and recruiting outreach initiatives.
• Deliver a positive, engaging, and professional candidate experience that reflects Azure's culture and values.
Hiring Process Support
• Partner with hiring managers to facilitate efficient and effective hiring processes.
• Assist with interview guides, candidate evaluations, and hiring documentation.
• Coordinate reference checks, background checks, and pre-employment requirements.
• Support offer preparation and offer communication processes.
• Track recruiting metrics and hiring activity.
• Ensure hiring processes are compliant, consistent, and well-documented.
Employer Branding & Recruitment Marketing
• Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing efforts.
• Assist in promoting Azure as an employer of choice through job fairs, community partnerships, social media, and workforce development opportunities.
• Coordinate recruiting events and hiring campaigns.
• Maintain recruiting content and candidate-facing materials.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
• Coordinate all onboarding activities for new employees.
• Ensure completion of all required employment documentation and onboarding tasks.
• Coordinate system access, equipment requests, training assignments, and departmental onboarding activities.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for new employees during their onboarding period.
• Ensure new hires are introduced to Azure's mission, values, culture, and workplace expectations.
New Hire Integration & Retention Support
• Monitor onboarding progress and completion rates.
• Conduct onboarding follow-up activities during the first 30, 60, and 90 days of employment.
• Gather feedback from new employees and managers regarding onboarding effectiveness.
• Identify opportunities to improve onboarding experiences and early employee engagement.
• Partner with leaders to support successful integration into teams and departments.
Program Tracking & Reporting
• Maintain recruiting, hiring, and onboarding records.
• Track recruiting performance metrics, candidate pipeline activity, and onboarding completion rates.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Monitor hiring trends and recommend process improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Administrative Support
• Identify opportunities to improve recruiting and onboarding processes.
• Maintain organized documentation, templates, and process guides.
• Assist with workforce planning initiatives and special projects.
• Support other job duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
• 2+ years of experience in recruiting, onboarding, talent acquisition coordination, employee services, or human resources.
• Experience coordinating hiring processes and supporting candidate engagement.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, agriculture, retail, or multi-location environments preferred.
