EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalency preferred
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience with inspection processes with metal casting processes a plus. Previous experience or qualification in Florescent Penetrant preferred. On the job training provided. Certifiable per NAS-410 as an FPI Level 1

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Must have good vision/sight (must meet industry standards and have no color discrimination), depth perception, hearing, and hand-eye coordination, and dexterity. Reading, writing, above average math aptitude is necessary. Must be team-oriented, problem-solver, and self-motivated. Must be able to follow written work instructions. Must be able to multitask and meet production goals and deadlines. Must be team-oriented and have good communication skills. Must have great attention to detail. Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to grip, push, and pull with 80lb strength on a regular basis. Must be able to generate 15lbs of pinch strength on occasion. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical. Must be able to perform elevated work on an occasional basis. Some tasks require repetitive activities. Must be able to stand on concrete up to 8 hours. Must be willing to cross-train within the classification. Must be able to follow all safety rules and wear all required personal protective equipment. Must be willing to work any shift.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Level 2 Florescent Penetrant Inspector:
- Level 2 NDT inspector has the skills and knowledge necessary to setup and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, interpret, and evaluate indications, and record results in accordance with work instructions approved by the Responsible Level 3.
- 270 hours of experience in Level II duties in addition to the 130 hours for the Level I certification
- Completion of 16 hours classroom training in addition to the 16 hours for Level I certification
- Must pass a general, specific, and practical examination.
- Must have a yearly eye check and pass color discrimination and visual acuity eye exams.
- Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the job in which certified.
- Directing the technical work of trainees and Level 1 personnel
- Must read specifications and standards used at Wellman and organize and document results of examinations.
- Inspect castings for any nonconformances found during the Penetrant Inspection process.
- Accept/reject castings.
- Fill out QDIR cards for any nonconformances.
- Responsible handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste through the direction of the Environmental and Safety department
