Job Description
Supervised by: Director of Facilities
Overview: The Maintenance Worker at The Well is an essential role responsible for ensuring our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position calls for a diligent individual with a strong skill set in maintenance and repair, capable of performing a wide range of tasks. Qualifications:
- Proven maintenance experience.
- Preference given to individuals with a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, including hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
- Experience with general landscaping.
- Ability to take apart machines, equipment or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Experience with measuring and possesses basic math skills.
- Strong organizational skills, detail orientated and follow-up skills.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks for completion.
- Strong time management skills.
- Be available days, evenings and weekends as needed to address urgent maintenance issues as they arise and assist in snow removal. Complete all activities in 40 hours per week.
- Be able to lift 50lbs, climb stairs/ladders, work while standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Bimonthly, conduct a full walkthrough inspection of each facility, including 910 W. Park Avenue, 200 S. 13th Street, 510/512 Verges Avenue, 306 W Indiana, 1203 S 8th, 1800 Pasewalk, and satellite offices in West Point and Columbus. Schedule and maintain a consistent schedule for conducting inspections to give all residents and staff proper notice to respect their privacy.
- Bimonthly, complete a full inspection of all agency vehicles to ensure that they are working properly.
- Attend Maintenance L10 meetings
- Perform preventative maintenance of all agency property.
- Work with the maintenance team to prioritize and complete work orders.
- Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed timely and effectively.
- Report all tasks to the Director of Facilities on a weekly basis.
- Submit all receipts for maintenance activities completed outside of the agency to the Director of Facilities.
- Conduct or oversee repairs and maintenance.
- Handle repairs and maintenance within the scope of practice.
- Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Responsible for obtaining bids for repairs/projects that are hired out by outside contractors when a primary company has not been assigned prior.
- Manage landscaping responsibilities
- In the spring and summer, perform landscaping tasks at multiple different facilities.
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to create and implement a landscaping plan for each facility.
- Ensure all landscaping equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition
Probationary Period: Six months
