Job Description
Job Title: Associate, Warehouse I
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor/Operations Manager
Location: Vernon Hills, IL
Work Type: Onsite
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
To perform the duties assigned in the designated area of the warehouse based on training and skill set. Assigned areas are: Receiving, Repack, Returns, Put Away, Picking, Packing, International Packing, Shipping, and any functions as needed. Training will be with a trainer and utilizing work instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must be familiar with a working warehouse environment.
- Be able to handle the necessary warehouse equipment in the assigned area of work.
- Must be able to perform at the minimum acceptable performance level for assigned area (95% of set standard or better in assigned area).
- Must maintain a high level of accuracy within set guidelines.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record according to company guidelines.
- Needs to work in a neat and safe manner by performing daily housekeeping tasks.
- Be able to offer suggestions for continuous improvement to the supervisor or management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of previous warehouse or equivalent experience.
- Prior forklift experience, Haz Mat packing, Shipping preferred.
Qualifications:
- It is preferred to have experience working in an automated warehouse environment but not required.
- Must be able to use a PC/CRT and scanners.
- Must be able to learn multiple different software’s to perform daily functions.
- Preferred to have previous experience operating forklifts depending on position.
- Must have good math skills.
- Must be detail orientated and perform with high accuracy.
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing and be able to read and understand required documents for assigned area.
- Must interact with other employees and departments on a daily basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally and, if necessary, with assistance.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $17-$19/hr, depending on location, experience, and qualifications.
