Catering Sales Manager in Augusta, Georgia at StepStone Hospitality Inc.

Doubletree Augusta is looking for a Catering Sales Manager. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating catering and event revenue through prospecting, relationship building, event planning, and client service. This position manages social, corporate, meeting, and special-event business from initial inquiry through event completion while ensuring accurate communication and exceptional service.

• Book social, corporate, meeting, and catering functions in accordance with hotel revenue goals and budget expectations.
• Develop and execute a targeted sales plan through prospecting, sales calls, networking, site visits, and client follow-up.
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to generate repeat and referral business.
• Conduct site tours and client planning meetings.
• Maintain detailed event records, including room setup, food and beverage, timelines, billing, and special requests.
• Prepare and communicate accurate event details to Banquets, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Front Office, Accounting, and other departments.
• Assist with the development of banquet menus and event packages.
• Upsell food and beverage, meeting space, audiovisual services, guest rooms, and other hotel services to maximize revenue.
• Participate in 30-, 60-, and 90-day banquet forecasting and annual budget planning.
• Greet clients upon arrival and remain available during assigned functions as needed.
• Respond to guest and client questions, requests, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
• Participate in conference planning meetings, site reviews, and hotel sales activities.
• Conduct post-event follow-up to evaluate satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
• Coordinate hotel promotions, associate functions, and special events as assigned.
• Maintain accurate sales, catering, and client records within hotel systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on hotel business needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
• Previous catering sales, hotel sales, event planning, banquet, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong sales, communication, negotiation, and customer-service skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to accurately use hotel sales, catering, office, and accounting software.
• Flexible availability is required based on hotel and client needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; move throughout hotel and event spaces; use standard office equipment; and occasionally lift or move materials associated with events.
