About the Role:

The Pantry Aid plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of food storage and preparation areas within a variety of settings such as restaurants, cafeterias, or institutional kitchens. This position ensures that all pantry items are properly stocked, organized, and readily accessible to kitchen staff, thereby supporting efficient meal preparation and service. The Pantry Aid is responsible for monitoring inventory levels, receiving deliveries, and assisting with the proper storage of perishable and non-perishable goods to maintain food safety standards. This role requires attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying supply needs and potential issues before they impact kitchen operations. Ultimately, the Pantry Aid contributes to a clean, safe, and well-organized pantry environment that supports the overall success of the food service team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (up to 50 lbs) safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or software.
  • Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen and management staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming pantry deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Organize pantry shelves and storage areas to maintain cleanliness and easy access to ingredients.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management to prevent shortages.
  • Assist kitchen staff by preparing ingredients or retrieving pantry items as needed during food preparation.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a hygienic work environment.

Skills:

The Pantry Aid utilizes organizational skills daily to maintain an orderly and efficient pantry, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and easy to locate. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting deliveries and monitoring inventory to prevent spoilage and shortages. Physical stamina and safe lifting techniques are applied regularly to handle stock and maintain the pantry environment. Communication skills are important for coordinating with kitchen staff and management to meet supply needs and support meal preparation. Additionally, knowledge of food safety practices is consistently applied to uphold hygiene standards and comply with health regulations.

Wednesday-Sunday 3:00PM-9:00PM

Payrate: $15.00-$17.00 based on experience
