Description:

AH-64 Simulator Technician shall provide maintenance services to support simulator training operations for the RAAF. The Technician work shall focus on repairs, testing, installation, configuration, upgrading and assisting in the modification of simulators and training components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs device power-up and shut down, daily readiness checks, assisting students and instructors in operating devices during training, and supporting user-directed activities such as investigations, test and demonstrations, tours, etc.
  • Maintains a property control system for the control, use, maintenance, repair, protection, preservation and incorporation or return of all categories of CFE and authorized Supplier acquired property.
  • Maintains records of inventory, movement, and location of any CFE and provide upon request.
  • Provides academic and training device readiness to allow students to achieve the learning objectives associated with applicable syllabi or training plans.
Requirements:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 2+ years’ experience leading and supervising a team of flight simulation technicians
  • 4+ years' experience in aircraft flight simulator training device maintenance, or experience in aircraft avionics / electronics or computer network and information systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally
  • Must be able and flexible to work rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • 4+ years of Longbow Crew Trainer (LCT) experience
  • Understanding of aviation regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of quality management systems
  • Understanding of computer hardware and software as it applies to flight simulators
  • Understanding of electronics, electrical schematics and circuits
  • Experience working with DoD training systems
  • Experience working in the META region/with non-US-based government officials

Security Responsibilities

  • Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
  • May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees who do not have a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the complex word and technical documents/diagrams.

Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.

Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

  • Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.
  • May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
