Irrigation Technician at Fisher Island Community Association – Miami Beach, Florida

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to join our team. As an Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing irrigation systems for our golf course. Your main end result will be to ensure that our golf course is properly irrigated and maintained to the highest standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of job sites for installation or repair of irrigation system.
• Assists with maintenance or new construction work.
• Provides piping and settling of heads in new construction areas.
• Cleans up, as requested.
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Comply with all Fisher Island standards (i.e., grooming, conduct, policies and procedures).
• Performing regular maintenance on irrigation systems, including checking for leaks, repairing broken pipes, and replacing faulty valves.
• Troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems, including electrical and hydraulic components.
• Ensuring that irrigation systems are properly programmed and functioning efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate records of all irrigation system repairs and maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Possess a Valid Driver License
• High school diploma and 2 years’ experience in landscape maintenance
• Knowledge of methods, tools, materials and equipment used in landscaping
• Skill in the use and care of chain saws, edges, trimmers, spray tanks and other commonly used tools
• Physical strength and agility sufficient to permit working overhead and with equipment or objects weighing over 30 pounds
• Ability to work independently
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of irrigation systems
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, use hands and fingers, and have peripheral vision and depth perception
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Fitness levels sufficient to remain standing for most of your shift
• Able to bend, rotate and reach frequently
• Carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing upwards of 75 lbs.
• Ascending/descending stairs or ladders safely
• Willingness to work in tough climates-Outdoor/indoor
