Job Description

ATA Services Inc is currently seeking to hire an experienced Project Manager to work on a temporary assignment with the state of New Mexico Department of Health.

  • Pay Rate: $65.00 per hour with weekly pay
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: expected to end 6/30/2025
  • Schedule: The work schedule consists of 35 hours per week and can be accomplished via telework. Statewide Travel with overnight stay is required.
  • Candidate MUST live in New Mexico

Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to promote the health and well-being within and across all communities and populations in New Mexico through the principles of health promotion, public health theory, quality improvement practices and knowledge of applied epidemiology.

Reporting Structure:

This position will lead NM DOH’s community health needs assessment work, but under the overall guidance and direction of the NM DOH Statewide Health Promotion Program Manager. This Project Manager will report directly to the Statewide Health Promotion Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with and ensuring comprehensive, quality health data are available and accessible to the public and partners in New Mexico by managing the work for New Mexico Shared Community Health Needs Assessment Collaborative (NMSCHNA).

The Project Manager responsibilities will include the following:

  • Serve as the NM DOH lead in the agency on NMSCHNA.
  • Work closely with internal partners (Regional Public Health Offices and Health Promotion teams, Office of Health Equity, Office of the Tribal Liaison, Center for Access and Linkage to Health Care, and Epidemiology), interagency and external partners (in particular Presbyterian Healthcare) to improve Statewide community health assessment efforts. Promote the health and well-being within and across all communities and populations in New Mexico through the NMSCHNA Collaborative.
  • Align and support New Mexico Health Care institutions in completing health assessments and generating meaningful and aligned implementation plans statewide in collaboration with internal, interagency and external partners.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with and ensuring comprehensive, quality health data are available and accessible to the public and partners in New Mexico.

Monitor program performance and outcomes, implementing necessary improvements to align goals set by the Statewide Health Promotion Program Manager.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field.
  • Two years’ experience using data analysis software.
  • Experience in working with data quality and analysis to maintain timely and accurate data.
  • Ability to assess partner and end user information needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including communication of technical information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to be responsive to multiple projects and timelines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team settings.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to document errors that occur.
  • Multitask and change job duties at any given time.
