Job Description
About the Role:
The Truck Parts Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of truck parts within a manufacturing environment. This position ensures that all parts are available in a timely manner to support production schedules and maintenance operations, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency. The manager will lead a team responsible for parts ordering, receiving, storage, and quality control, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. They will also analyze inventory data to optimize stock levels, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
- knowledge of truck parts, components, and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EPC or similar inventory management software.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment related to heavy trucks or commercial vehicles.
- Advanced knowledge of truck mechanics
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the truck parts department, including inventory control, ordering, receiving, and distribution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
- Lead and train a team of parts specialists to ensure efficient and accurate parts handling and customer service.
- Monitor inventory levels and analyze usage trends to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all parts handling and storage activities.
- Prepare regular reports on inventory status, supplier performance, and departmental metrics for senior management.
